RIng sizing questions

Finding the right ring size can feel unexpectedly uncertain, whether you’re choosing a ring for yourself or planning a meaningful surprise for someone you love. This guide is designed to make the process simple, considered, and reassuring.

Please read the section that applies to you below.

How to get the right ring size

MEASURING YOUR OWN RING SIZE

If you are selecting a ring for yourself, accurate sizing ensures the ring feels as beautiful to wear as it looks.

One of the most reliable ways to determine your size is by using a ring you already own. Choose a ring that fits comfortably on the finger where you plan to wear your new ring. Place the ring flat on a ruler and measure the inside diameter in millimetres. Share this measurement with us, and we will convert it to the correct size.

You may also use a physical ring sizer or a printable size chart. For best results, measure your finger at room temperature, ideally later in the day when fingers are at their natural size.

A few things to keep in mind when measuring your own ring size:

  • Fingers on your dominant hand are often slightly larger than on your non-dominant hand
  • Cold temperatures can make fingers smaller, while heat can cause swelling
  • Wider rings tend to feel tighter than slimmer bands
  • A well-sized ring should feel secure but still slide off without force

If you find yourself between sizes, we are happy to guide you toward the best option based on the specific design you are considering.

MEASURING RING SIZE FOR A SURPRISE ENGAGEMENT

Choosing an engagement ring in secret is deeply romantic and understandably a little nerve-racking. The good news is that knowing the exact size is not expected.

If your partner wears rings regularly, this is often the easiest approach. You can borrow a ring they wear often, measure the inside diameter, or place it on a ruler and take a clear photo from above. Let us know which finger the ring is worn on, as this helps us adjust the size accurately.

Keep in mind that many people wear rings on their middle or index finger, which are larger than the ring finger. Also consider whether the ring fits snugly or loosely, and whether it is slim or wide.

If borrowing a ring is not possible, here are other discreet ways to estimate:

  • Ask someone close to your partner, such as a best friend, sibling, or mother
  • Have a friend invite your partner to look at rings together and suggest getting sized casually
  • Compare your partner’s ring finger to one of your own fingers and have your finger sized as a reference
  • If a friend or family member has a recent engagement ring, they may casually suggest your partner try it on for fun

These methods are often enough to get very close, although it may not guarantee a completely accurate size.

A NOTE ON ACCURACY AND RESIZING

We do not expect you to know your partner’s exact ring size when placing your order. Our recommendation is simply to aim within plus or minus one size of their actual measurement.

Your first resizing is complimentary within plus or minus 1.5 sizes, depending on the design. Please note that some rings cannot be resized extensively without compromising their structure, and further adjustments may not always be possible.

If you are unsure, choose the best estimate and allow us to guide you from there.

PREFER NOT TO GUESS?

If the ring does not need to remain a surprise, we offer sending a ring sizer that can be mailed to you, as well as a printable ring size chart. The chart includes guides for both measuring an existing ring and measuring your finger at home.

If you need personal guidance at any point, we are always happy to help.
